Good time management skills are required
When you are responsible for helping manage another’s life, your time management skills must be utterly impeccable! Not only will you have to ensure you are on time for each shift, but you will also need to adhere to a morning and evening shift pattern. At Lifestyle Homecare, 7am to 2pm is our morning and lunch shift, while 4pm to 10:30pm is the evening meal and bedtime shift, but we do offer a 30-minute flexibility on either side of the shift!
You will have a broad range of duties
Your responsibilities as a community care worker will involve a huge variety of different activities as you support your homecare clients in their daily lives. These may include helping arrange and carry out chores and errands, assisting in maintaining personal hygiene, or engaging in social activities with them. Every day will be different, so you have to keep a certain level of flexibility in your role!
You must be committed to cleanliness and safety
In the role of care worker, you will likely support people from vulnerable groups or those more susceptible to illness or infection. Because of this, it is vital that you maintain an exceptional standard of cleanliness and hygiene at all times. Not only will you need to keep the home clean and tidy, but also maintain your own personal hygiene without exception.
